• Blooming Make-Up Style with Mu Jin

In our last post, we talked about Korean celebrity make-up artist's Bare Skin Make-Up Style shown on episode 1 of After School's Beauty Bible, which aired on May 19, 2014. In the same episode, another Korean celebrity make-up artist, Mu Jin, showed Juyeon how to do a blooming make-up style.

To start, Mujin explained that in order to select the best base color for yourself so that your neck and face colors do not clash, you should select a color that matches the tone of your neck. Even if there is a difference with the color of your face and neck, it will blend in anyway because... well, your neck and face are connected... hopefully. ^^

To apply the base make-up, you should shake it, dab it on, and then apply a thin layer from the inside out. If you need more coverage, it is okay to add another thin layer. These days there are all-in-one top coats with foundation, primer, sun screen, etc., all in one, so you don't need to use powder to complete it.

For an innocent style of make-up such as the blooming make-up style, Mujin said that you shouldn't use a lot of color. If there is an excess of color, it won't seem so innocent. You can add a point with the use of eyeliner. Mujin used a purple shade with a subtle shine. One of her expert tips was to curl your eyelashes before applying mascara and it will be easier to apply mascara. Plus it will look prettier because otherwise your lashes will bend if you try to curl them after the application of mascara.

Another tip was that gel liners spread easily. Pencil type eyeliners make it difficult to create delicate expressions. A gel pencil liner is easy to use, doesn't smear easily, and doesn't come off easily. If you're in the market for a new eyeliner, try out a gel eyeliner!

For the lips, Mujin used the popular gradation concept and used a blended combination of two colors. When doing this, Mujin suggested applying the lighter color first to act as the base. Afterwards, the dominant, stronger color should be applied on the inner parts of the lips--not all over the lips.

Here is the finished look!
